A rare Italian varietal grown where it belongs — the cool, elevated slopes of the Adelaide Hills. Our Ashton Barbera 2025 is handpicked and estate-grown on the gentle inclines of the Ashton vineyard, a site whose altitude and cool nights are ideally suited to this northern Italian grape. For a family with Italian roots, Barbera isn't a novelty here; it's a homecoming.
Tasting Notes: In the glass, the 2025 vintage shows dark cherry, wild strawberry and purple plum, with a thread of savoury spice adding depth and structure. It's bright, bold and vibrant on the palate — generous in flavour yet framed by the soft tannins and lively, food-friendly acidity that define great Barbera. This is a wine built for the table.
Food pairing: A natural partner to tomato-based pasta, slow-braised ragù, charcuterie, wood-fired pizza and hard Italian cheeses. Serve lightly chilled (14–16°C) on warmer days.
